Hello, I am Tigger-Lilly

My brother Two-Socks attempted to write a blog entry for yesterday. Today, I will show him the correct way to blog.

Tigger-Lilly(1) You must appeal to the masses. Let me state for the record that Malia and Sasha Obama need to adopt a cat vise a dog. Dogs are high maintenance and way to active. Us cats are smarter, cleaner, and do not have to be let in and out of the house constantly. This is of vital importance when dealing with security issues like living in the White House. So let’s write a letter to the President.

Mr. President, Barrack Obama, you may like to know that each of your daughters would probably prefer there own pet and two cats adopted from the local shelter would be a great fit for the White House. Sincerely, Tiger-Lilly.

(2) You must understand current affairs. Marcia Cross' husband has been diagnosed with cancer. Now is the perfect time to get him a cat. We cats are wonderful companions that can sleep in the bed beside him and he can pet us all day while recovering from his cancer treatments. This is a win-win situation!

(3) You must cater to the wedding fans. Parminder Nagra of ER and her longtime boyfriend James Stenson have gotten married last weekend in Hollywood and are expecting their first child together this summer. Now is the time to adopt a kitten. You can start learning how to take care of a child, ensure the child is feed, nurtured, loved, and played with. Wow, I am good at the blogging stuff!

See little brother, this is how to blog!

Two Socks

Hello, I am Two-Socks.

Jim is busy today, so I am taking over the Blog while he is gone.

Two-Socks I am one of the 4 outdoor cats that live in his backyard. There is also a transient cat, Daa-Daa, that comes and goes as he pleases. Jim believes that he is my dad but I am not sure about that. Uncle-Cat is more of a dad to me.

Uncle-Cat, my sister Tiger-Lilly, and my mom Princess, all love living in Jim’s backyard and back porch. We have cat beds and a dog house to keep us warm at night and plenty of food and water. We also like to explore behind Jim’s backyard because he lives next to the marsh, so no back neighbor. We go fishing and hunting and playing around the trees. In fact, Uncle-Cat got himself a squirrel not long ago. Wow, he is fast for being so large. He must be pretty fit, so I must take after him. Uncle and Mom really love each other. They hangout together all the time, sleep together, sunbath together, walk around the forest and marsh together. Silly. Tiger-Lilly and I never hangout together like those two.

Ok, enough for today. Hopefully Jim will be busy next time also and I will be your host again soon.

See ya, Two-Socks

Socks and Carmie

Socks and Carmie are brothers.
We bought them from the Camden County Animal Shelter years ago, like around 1997.

Socks and Carmie

They are orange cats with pink paws and pink noses. Carmie is almost all orange except for the tip of his tail. Socks, of course, has four white paws and a white strip on this chest.

  • Carmie is my wife's sweetie. He loves to cuttle beside her every chance he gets.
  • Socks is the little devil. He must have his potty box clean almost all the time and do not leave a towel on the bathroom floor. He will pee on it! ...with five indoor cats and little devil here, I must change the two litter boxes twice a day. It sounds bad but I guess we are use to it. You do both boxes in the morning prior to going to work and then again after dinner prior to watching TV for the night.

Both are good cats! Socks and Carmie love to be petted, look out the windows, and even watch TV with us. Socks loves to play with pens and little soft puff balls. Both love yarn and string.

Samantha

Samantha is Mamma Kitty's daughter

Samantha

(It is hard to take pictures of black cats.) Samantha is completely black like her mom. Her and Sebastion are the two of the four children Mamma Kitty had prior to being "fixed". Samantha is very shy and usually is always hiding or sleeping in her bed. She will come running to her designated areas for a brushing. She only likes to be brushed on the couch or on her bed.

Like any girl with a brother, her and Sebastion get in many little cats fights. Usually at least once a week they like to bat at each other. Sebastion is much bigger (he is the biggest inside cat I have) so he usually wins any cat fight he gets into. But Semantha is very sweet and we give her lots of loving. Besides demanding to be brushed everyday she also like a cube of ice in her water. We call it her fishy.

Mamma Kitty

Mamma Kitty is Sebastions Mom.
Mamma Kitty
Mamma was found in our backyard. She was small and scared to death of people. Sebastion and his sister Samantha are two of four children Mamma had at one time. The other two, Shadow and Spot, were given away for free. It took about a year to get Mamma to trust us. Now she is an indoor cat, along with her kids.

Mamma is a well travelled Kitty. She was raised in Georgia, moved across the Nation to Washington state and a year later, moved back to Georgia. She has been to the Redwood forest in California, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Grand Canyon, and Roswell, New Mexico.

Sebastion takes Insulin

I have to give Sebastion Insulin twice a day. He is our diabetic cat.

Sebastion

How to give a cat Insulin:

You gentle roll the insulin bottle in your hand to warm it up and resuspend the insulin, then use the needle to put the same amount of air in the bottle that you are about to take out with insulin. Then pull up the neck of the cat, around the shoulder blades, and then insert the needle and squeeze. Simple. It is best to be real gentle with the cat, give him plently of petting and gentle talking, and maybe a treat afterwards.
